  1. You left off "The Princess Bride". Good call on "North by Northwest". Of course just about anything with Cary Grant needs to be on that list.

And there should definitely be some 007 movies with Sean Connery.

"The King and I" and "My Fair Lady".

"The Lion King", "The Little Mermaid" and of course "Beauty and the Beast". All those classic Disney movies are a must.

"Blade Runner" is awesome. Wow, I must have listened to the soundtrack at a million times. Yes, old man music, I know.

Never have seen any of the Godfather movies.

All in all, pretty good list. Nice job.

  2. Oh, and how could you miss "Pirates of the Caribbean"?

  3. We are definitely not on the same page with some of those silver-screened pedestrian products.

Don't believe we ever saw "The Princess Bride", but then again, we ain't the chick flick type. If we did see it, it must've been forgetttable with three "t's".

007, perhaps when we & Sean & Roger were much younger & less distinguished-looking. But only if you add "The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly" & Clint's other serial spaghetti westerns.

"The King and I", naah, & "My Fair Lady", once upon a time, perhaps, in a more innocent day, Miss Doolittle.

"The Lion King", "The Little Mermaid" and of course "Beauty and the Beast"? When we were a pre-schooler it would've been "Bambi", "Old Yeller", & "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier".

Enraptured by Blade Runner & director's cut over a gazillion times, & Godfathers I, II, & III even more. Enraptured r us.

And "Pirates of the Caribbean", you can keep it on your list & off of ours. Loved Depp in "Donnie Brasco" opposite Pacino & "Blow" opposite Cruz, though. Did you know Johnny was in "Platoon", another great flick that should be on our list along with "Full Metal Jacket". It's a guy thing.

Can't believe we left off "Revenge" with Costner & Madeleine Stowe. Quinn was epic.

"Good Will Hunting" & "Man on Fire" & the GodFathers are probably our top 5, give or take.

A list of our top 100 or two would be too easy.

  4. LOL - Disney is so classic! I cry every time, no matter how many times I watch them. And the music - wonderful. It's okay to feel like a kid sometimes.

Clint Eastwood ROCKS!!!!!!! I can't believe I left him off of my original list. I love it when they play Ennio Morricone on Cinemagic. Talk about epic music and movies.

I did not know Depp was in "Platoon". Don't really care, since I am not a fan of war movies. As in, I hate them. Too sad. Real life is sad enough - I don't want to pay good money to be made to feel all hollow inside. I already know war sucks. Yes, it is a guy thing. I guess you are a guy then? One can never tell.

Haven't seen "Revenge" yet. Will have to see if Netflix offers it. "Good Will Hunting" was clever, but I'll have to watch it again to reevaluate - I was younger and more distracted at the time.

I couldn't give you a top five - I can never make up my mind. Too fickle, I suppose. Shocking admission, yes, I know.

"The Usual Suspects" would definitely be in my top 10 for sure, maybe even top 5. I love the story and the silly fact that I can understand the Hungarian in the movie. Too often filmmakers are lazy with foreign languages because they think audiences are too stupid to figure it out. I am happy to say that got that one right.

  5. Depp was in "Platoon", neither know did we; had to wiki it.

"Verbal" & "Keyser Söze", now there are a couple of excellent cyber-monikers for yours truly, & so apropos.

  6. Nice. So you're a big fat liar and a good actor who's secretly running the show. Beautiful.

  7. We had something much more lexical or imperious in mind.

Keyser - Dutch: from keyser ‘emperor’, modern Dutch keizer (from Latin Caesar). Keyser is a 17th-century spelling. Compare German Kaiser. In addition to the meanings of the German name (nickname, house name, etc.), this was also a status name for the head of a society of marksmen.

  8. I should know better - it's always a deeper layer with y'all, isn't it?

  9. Well, to be completely honest, we did lie about who ate the last of the dark-chocolate donuts.

But we're anything but fat & it's no secret that we run the show here.

  10. Good for you! On both counts. But are you fit too? Did my cardio today - cardio, cardio, cardio. Gotta be able to outrun the zombie hordes.
